Welcome to Jimmy Guerin - Independent Candidate

Dear Voter,

Jimmy Guerin welcomes youI have decided to stand as an independent candidate in this years Local Elections and also in the next General Election. I know that if elected I have the qualifications to represent this local electoral area.

Since the last local elections the areas of Howth, Sutton and Baldoyle have lacked strong representation at Local Council level. I believe that this must change in next years Local Elections if we are to maximise our share from Local Government

We are now part of a new Electoral Area known as Howth-Malaide, which will elect five councillors and includes the areas of Howth, Sutton, Baldoyle Portmarnock Kinsealy and Malahide. It is a large area and has needs at many different levels. Having lived in this area for the past twenty five years I believe that I am aware of those needs.

I want to be elected to represent this area. I believe I am well qualified to carry out this role and hope that  I can count on your support in next Junes Local Elections.

James Guerin

Howth - Malahide A New Political Area

The population of Fingal increased from 1996 to 2006 by a massive 46%. However Howth decreased by 10% while the growth of population in Malahide was only 11%. In their recent area review the Electoral Area Committee recommended that the electoral areas of Howth and Malahide be combined. This new Electoral Area will have five representatives and will include Howth Baldoyle Portmarnock Malahide and Kinsealy.  Howth Malahide is now the second largest local electoral area in Fingal with a population of 49,804.
